The Russian agricultural sector expects a noticeable increase in product exports this year. Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko predicts a 10 percent increase in exports, but exact figures have not yet been made public. However, the Ministry of Agriculture expects exports to exceed $45 billion. Russia actively exports grain, its processed products, oilseeds and fat-and-oil products, dairy and meat products.
It is interesting to note that Russia has moved from importing some products, such as meat, to exporting. This means that the country supplies these goods in larger quantities than it imports. This fact indicates the growth of production and competitiveness of the Russian agricultural sector.
Particular attention is paid to grain exports. Abramchenko predicts that grain exports will reach 60 million tons, which is higher than the previous forecast. The Ministry of Agriculture estimates that the grain harvest will be 140 million tons in net weight. This strong harvest figure allows for an increase in export forecasts.
It should be noted that the initial forecast of the Ministry of Agriculture was 123 million tons of grain, including 78 million tons of wheat. However, the actual yield was much higher than this estimate. This pleases the agricultural department and experts, who predicted even higher numbers. Such a harvest will satisfy domestic demand for grain and fulfill export obligations.
Thus, the Russian agricultural sector expects an increase in exports of products, especially grains. This is a positive trend that contributes to the development of the industry and strengthening of Russia’s position in the global market for agricultural goods.
