A prototype of virtual reality glasses for cows was tested at a livestock farm in the Moscow region.

According to the leaders of this large enterprise, the development of domestic IT specialists will help improve the emotional state of dairy cows, which stimulates their productivity. It is possible that the “happy” cows not only give more milk, but also  improve its taste.

The developers of the virtual reality studio, in collaboration with veterinarians and production consultants, adapted human VR glasses to the structure of the cow head. Cows perceive the shades of the red part of the spectrum better and weaker perceives shades of green and blue, engineers created  unique program for simulating a summer field. A cow in these glasses easily imagines itself among meadow grasses in free air and under the gentle sun even in winter, even when locked up.

After the first test, the experimental subjects decreased anxiety and increased the general emotional mood of the herd.

If the experiment succeeds, the developers intend to scale up the project and modernize the domestic sphere of dairy production.
