MHP reduces poultry exports by 22%

Russia imports less and less pork

Russia continues to decrease the volume of pork imports. Between January and September 2015 pork imports amounted to 237,200 tonnes, which is 24.3% less than in the same period in 2014, according to data provided by the Federal State Statistics Service in Russia. While imports are decreasing, domestic production capacities in Russia keep increasing. How Russia’s sanctions against Turkey will affect both economies

The sanctions that Moscow is introducing against Turkey will mainly affect Turkish imports, say Russian experts. Russia banning poultry imports from Turkish supplier as of Dec. 1

Russia's Federal Veterinary and Phyto-Sanitary Oversight Service (Rosselkhoznadzor) is banning imports of poultry meat from a Turkish supplier effective December 1. The watchdog said the ban is being imposed on the products of Standart Gida Sanayi ve Ticaret Anonim Sirkorti because Listeria was found in the meat. Products shipped to Russia prior to December 1 will be subject to tighter laboratory control. Sixteen companies in Turkey currently have the right to ship poultry meat to Russia, but a ban has been imposed on six of them due to violations of veterinary requirements.
