The issue of replacing the tariff quota for beef imports to Russia with a flat duty will be re-examined at a meeting of the subcommittee on customs-tariff and non-tariff regulation, protective measures in foreign trade, and the executive committee on economic development and integration, the Ministry of Agriculture told Interfax.
A source in the financial and economic block of the government told Interfax that the meeting at which the issue was discussed took place on 20 July. Agencies are currently requesting information from industry unions in order to prepare an informed decision.
Meanwhile, it was reported that there is no consensus in the meat market regarding this measure.
