Kazakhstan has produced by 23.2% more poultry meat in the first five months of 2018 compared to year-earlier levels, reaching 23.4 thousand tons, according to a study released by Energyprom.
Between January and May 2018, the country reported a production of 107.7 thousand tons of meat products, with an increase of 14.5% compared to the corresponding period from 2017, as reported by PressORG.
Meanwhile, production of pork and horse meat has increased by only 4% in the mentioned period, reaching 30.8 thousand tons.
In addition, the study found that the demand for meat and meat products in Kazakhstan has been increasing 6.1% year-on-year.
In the first five months of this year, prices for beef went up by 9.4%, for horse meat by 9.2%, for pork by 8.3% and the prices for lamb increased also by 6.7%. Chicken meat has become cheaper by 0.8%.
