Since the beginning of the year, 161.8 thousand tons of meat has been produced in the Tambov Region. Experts note an increase in the volume of meat products, as well as livestock.

According to Tambovstat, agrarians produced 99.9 thousand tons of poultry meat, about 60.7 thousand tons of pork, more than 1 thousand ton of beef. This is 6.3% more than at the same time in 2018. The number of pigs in the region grew by 16.1%. Gross milk yield in the first four months of the year amounted to 23.1 thousand tons.

The share of the agro-industrial complex in the gross regional product is about 30%.
