In February the cumulative production of livestock and poultry for slaughter in domestic agricultural organizations returned to growth, adding 1.7%, writes Agroinvestor, citing Rosstat data. After a decline by 0.3% in January, the output grew by 0.7% and reached 1,8 million tons (live weight) in the first 2 months of 2019.
Meanwhile, poultry production has been declining for the second month in a row. Last month it decreased by 3.1%. Thus, in January-February 975 thousand tons were produced (-3.5% compared to the same period of 2018). Including in the Central Federal District, which accounts for up to 40% of the total industrial production, the production of poultry for 2 months fell by 3.1%, and in the Southern Federal District - by 35% altogether.
