 Russians started buying less plastic products choosing more eco-friendly analogs. Thus, sales of plastic straws dropped by 30%, while the demand for the metal, glass, and paper straws grew by 128%, reports Gazeta.Ru newspaper citing the study done by Russian online retailer Ozone.

The analysts of the e-commerce platform noted a drop in demand for plastic products, especially among the residents of the million-plus cities. Customers choose more environmentally friendly goods and packaging, note the experts.

According to the company's data, there is an increase in sales of fabric reusable shopping bags, eco-bags made of cloth, travel mugs, and other reusable goods.
