The bulk of applications for certification of organic products comes from manufacturers in the field of crop production (including mushroom farms) and livestock, told the deputy head of Roskachestva Elena Sarattseva.
In the third place in the number of applications for an organic certificate are processing products, said Elena Sarattseva. "Beekeepers are less likely to declare, there is not a single application for aquaculture," said the representative of the Roskachestvo. Applications for certification came from Mordovia, Crimea, Kaluga, Orel and Smolensk regions, as well as from the Krasnodar Territory, Krasnoyarsk, Ulyanovsk, Tambov and Penza.
Since the beginning of 2020, more than 100 applications for certification of organic products have been sent to Roskachestvo. “Now there are about 70 applications in the work,” said Elena Sarattseva. These are not only Russian, but also foreign manufacturers interested in competition in the Russian organic market, explained the deputy head of Roskachestvo.
In addition, 28 manufacturers have already passed the certification procedure, said Elena Sarattseva. And four more organizations are awaiting the issuance of certificates.
Manufacturers of "organics" must certify their products at the request of the law "On Organic Products", which entered into force in Russia on January 1, 2020. A company that does not have such a certificate and which is not included in the corresponding state register cannot sell its products as organic (that is, produced without the use of agrochemicals, pesticides, growth stimulants).
