The Russian meat market in 2018 was “very emotionally saturated,” according to Institute for Agricultural Market Studies (ICAR). The largest players - Miratorg, Rusagro, Cherkizovo and others - actively increased production. Growth will continue in 2019. According to analysts, the maximum amount of domestic meat on the market has not yet been reached.
The agency notes that by the end of last summer, a shortage of poultry meat appeared in the Russian market, and there were interruptions in the supply of pork. By the New Year the market gradually became saturated with an increase in the volume of production, and the prices of raw meat decreased. This was observed mainly in the European part of the country. Falling prices may continue.
