Russian meat producer Miratorg has reported an increase in pork production at its pig farms in the Kursk region to 85 thousand tons in live weight between January and September this year. Ukraine has reported an increase of 15% in its exports of poultry meat between January and September 2018 compared to year-earlier levels, reaching 243.7 thousand tons, UNN reports. Russian-based Miratorg is investing 3.8 billion rubles ($57.8 million) in its pig farms in Bryansk region in order to double its production capacity. Kyrgyzstan has imposed temporary restrictions on the imports of poultry meat and eggs from Almaty and North Kazakhstan due to possible avian influenza and Newcastle disease outbreaks in these regions.
