Armenian Agency Bans Sale of Chicken Meat with Salmonella

Armenia’s State Food Safety Service has banned today the sale of several brands of chicken meat, which were found out to be infected with salmonella. According toARKA News Agency, the names of companies that supplied the dangerous chicken meat were announced by the head of the State Food Safety Service Ishkhan Karapetyan. They are the frozen chicken wings "Frangosul" and SEARA, produced in Brazil; frozen chicken breasts "Premium" produced in Russia; frozen chicken breasts "Qualiko" produced in Ukraine; frozen broiler chicken "Mirotorg" produced in Russia. Belarusian Companies Authorised to Supply Beef to China

Belarus has become the first country in the CIS and 13th in the world that have been authorized to supply beef to the Chinese market, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in China. According toBelTA, Belarus' Agriculture and Food Minister Leonid Zayats met with the head of the Chinese General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine Zhi Shuping in Beijing on 12 December. Top Russian Pork Producer Miratorg Reports ASF Outbreak

Russia’s largest pork producer Miratorg on Friday reported an outbreak of African Swine Fever (ASF) at one of its sites in the Belgorod region in central Russia. Russia has been increasing pork production in recent years partially as it has banned most Western food imports since 2014 in retaliation for Western sanctions against Moscow. However, it has yet to halt of ASF outbreaks and this highly contagious fever among pigs restrains the development of its exports to Asian countries, including China. The year 2017 has seen African Swine Fever (ASF) creeping east beyond Russia’s Ural Mountains range, starting to pose a threat to the new regions of the country.This message was shared by Russia’s veterinary body Rossselhoznadzor, in statements on its website.
