Russian meat and feed producer Cherkizovo Group has received permission to export poultry products to Iraq, from its Vasilyevskaya poultry farm. This was reported by the European Supermarket Magazine (ESM). The Iraqi Ministry of Agriculture granted permission for the group to export its products to the country, provided all products meet strict halal guidelines. The first Belarusian companies have started exporting frozen beef to China, the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry said on Tuesday. Two Belarusian companies, OAO Mogilev Meat Packing Plant and Veles-Meat, have been opened for deliveries of beef to China, head of the Foreign Trade Department of the ministry Aleksei Bogdanov told local media. Belarus also constantly invites Chinese business delegations to work out delivery logistics, discuss meat cutting specifics and analyse the taste preferences of consumers, Mr Bogdanov said. Russia’s key pig production area, Belgorod region, has been struck by a severe outbreak of African Swine Fever (ASF). In a Rusagro farm, more than 15,000 pigs had to be culled. The outbreak was discovered on September 5, on a farm of Tambov Bacon, a subsidiary of agricultural holding Rusagro. The agricultural holding confirmed the outbreak on September 7 in a press release. World food prices fell 1.3 percent in August from the month before after three straight monthly increases, reflecting lower values for cereal, sugar and meat, the United Nations food agency said on Thursday.
