VIV China moves to Nanjing in 2018

The next edition of VIV China, in 2018, will be held in Nanjing, capital city of China’s Jiangsu province. The new venue comes with a new concept for VIV China, with more activities and with a clearer focus on the different target groups per day. Moldova after ASF: trade, campaigns and causes

2 weeks after the first-ever outbreaks of African Swine Fever in Moldova, the country is trying to manage the virus as good as it can. Prices of pigs have come down, and at the same time information campaigns have been started and more clarity has been obtained on the causes. When speaking to the local mediaSputnik, Anatoly Tretiak, the president of Moldova’s Association of Meat Importers (AMI) said that the purchasing price of pigs has dropped 2-3 Moldovan leu (US$0.09-0.14) per kg liveweight. Three more farms have reported African Swine Fever (ASF) including a commercial farm in Prokhladnensky. This farm registered 510 cases out of the 38,300 pigs susceptible. Leading Ukrainian Poultry Company MHP Targets Further Export Growth

Ukrainian poultry producer MHP has reported an increase in poultry sales volume of 6 per cent during 2016 in its latest financial results, compared with the first nine months of 2015. The company said the increase was driven by a massive increase in export volumes - chicken meat exports rose 70 per cent in the third quarter of 2016 compared with the same period last year. In the first nine months of 2016, the share of the company's total poultry sales going to exports was approximately 34 per cent. The latest Daily Livestock Report, published by Steiner Consulting Group, continues with summaries and key points regarding global beef and boiler markets, as reported by the recent USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service’s (FAS) publication “Livestock and Poultry: World Markets and Trade”. Starting with beef, FAS forecasts global production to increase about 1 per cent in 2016 and another 1 per cent in 2017 to 61.3 million tons. This is on expanding supplies from the US and South America.
