At the Russian Meat & Feed Industry - 2019 conference, Agroinvestor presented preliminary data of the IV annual rating of the largest Russian meat producers in 2018 . In total, the leaders of the Russian market produced 5 million tons of meat (cwt) - about 200 thousand tons more than in 2017. According to Rosstat, the volume of production of 25 companies that are heading the Agroinvestor’s rating represents almost half of the country's meat production and 60% of the production of agricultural organizations. In general, the production of livestock and poultry for slaughter increased by 2.6% in 2018, then the average growth rate in the top 25 approached 9%. A positive trend was demonstrated by 17 companies.
Broiler meat: The enterprises included in the rating produced 2.9 million tons of chicken meat - this figure decreased by 100 thousand tons compared with 2017, reaching 62% of the total Russian production and 68% of the total production in agricultural organizations.
Pork: Top 25 companies produced 1.88 million tons of pork (0.18 million tons more than in 2017). This volume makes up 51% of the total figure for the country and 60% of the total volume of pork production in agricultural organizations.
Beef: Beef production in the top 25 companies exceeded 70 thousand tons. Production of turkey meat reached 126 thousand tons (cwt). While the share of the top 25 in the total output of beef is relatively small (13% in the total production of agricultural organizations), in turkey sector it is close to half (49%).
