The Moscow region is almost 100% self-sufficient in poultry and pork, said Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the region Igor Zharov on Wednesday.
"We have achieved results in the Moscow region in almost 100% self-sufficiency in pork and poultry industry, but we should not stand still and will go for export," said Zharov at the Milk Forum in the Government House of the Moscow Region.
The Deputy Minister explained that it is necessary to supply both meat and meat products produced in the Moscow region to foreign markets.
As reported, agricultural exports of the Moscow region will increase to $ 1.5 billion a year by 2024.
