Russian company Damate restarts the country’s biggest duck meat processing plants in Rostov Oblast, the company said in a statement on 21 December. Earlier this year, Damate acquired Donstar, the former largest duck meat producer in Russia. SovEcon cut its forecast of Russian wheat export in 2020/21 MY by 4.5 mln tonnes to 36.3 mln tonnes. The analysts expect farmers to postpone selling of wheat until the next season due to the implementation of export duty on the grain since February 15, 2021. “Initially we expected the duty at 25 EUR/t to cut wheat export by 2-3 mln tonnes compared to our November forecast (40.8 mln tonnes). However, the analysis of 2014/15 MY shows that the market may have stronger reaction on the duty”, - the experts suppose.
