Russia will start exporting frozen poultry and dairy products to China, following the trade agreement recently reached by the two countries. China is to open its market for Kazakhstani beef. Chinese veterinary inspectors are due to inspect five Kazakhstani beef processors in the near future, Forbes.kz reports. Maksut Baktibayev, chairman of the board of the Meat Union of Kazakhstan, told Forbes that the inspection will take place sometime in mid-November. Mr Baktibayev expects shipments of frozen beef and cattle to be launched to China in 2019. International food commodity prices dipped in October, as falling dairy, meat and vegetable oils prices more than offset a surge in sugar prices, the United Nations said today. TheFAO Food Price Index, a measure of the monthly change in international prices of a basket of food commodities, averaged 163.5 points in October, down 0.9 per cent from September and 7.4 per cent below its level a year earlier. Russia has lifted the ban on pork and beef imports from nine Brazilian plants. The market previously closed in December 2017 after the Russian authorities discovered a feed additive that is banned in the country in some shipments.
